Easy to install
I have a Frigidaire frig that didn't come with and ice maker. I really didn't need one for awhile because I needed the extra freezer space. I just bought an up right freeze and realized I could now get an ice maker. I found this one and decided to buy it since it wasn't that expensive(I was... -
Easy upgrade
This has to be one of the easiest products to install. The fridge is set up for it, the instructions are clear and very few tools are required. It took about 45 minutes to install, probably because I was talking to someone while working.
I have a 2 year old Whirlpool Gold side by side refrigerator with an ice and water dispenser. The water dispenser is not working. The lever that you push to get water feels loose, has no resistance when I push it and the motor does not run. The...
If your lever has no resistance then the lever is broken or a spring is broken. If you look up and can't see anything you will have to remove the face plate of the dispenser. Most whirlpools are fairly standard in how to remove the dispenser front. First, unplug the refrigerator.

Does not remove beneficial fluoride from drinking water
Fits refrigerators with a push button in-grill water filter
Refrigerator brands include Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air

I can get ice out of my freezer, but the water has stopped working.
If this has been going on for a few days and you don't see the water leaking out of the refrigerator than there is no leak in the refrigerator water line. If your unit is making new ice several times a day than you might have a problem with a clogged line going to the water

Marilyn Heins: ParenTip of the week: This poison must not be kept in your home
Most soft drinks have two ingredients that your child does NOT need: an overload of carbohydrates and caffeine.
The carbs, whether high-fructose corn syrup or sugar, especially ingested in large quantities by thirsty kids who live in the desert, are a leading culprit in the epidemic of overweight and obese children.
Caffeine is a powerful drug. Children do not need a stimulant, though I admit the parent of an active toddler might need one.
Parents, you would not feed poison to your children because a poison is a substance that causes harm. Soft drinks are potentially so harmful to children that you should ban them from your home and shopping list. Nobody needs this particular "nutrient."
Substitutes for thirsty children: water, diluted fruit juice mixed with water or club soda, plain club soda. Substitutes for hungry children: healthy snacks like fruit, veggies, small cheese cubes and crackers.
Be a good no-caffeine-low-sugar role model. Need your coffee? I know I did when I was a busy parent and pediatrician simultaneously. Merely say, "This is a drink for grown-ups." I use this method and it worked. One of my children never developed a taste for coffee, the other became a coffee drinker.
Refrigerator/freezer not working - Appliance Repair Forum
I have a side-by-side. Both the freezer and refrigerator stop working off and on. Just the bottoms of both compartments are cold. It stops working for a few hours or a couple of days, and then starts working again on its own. Then it goes off again, etc. When it is working, everything is fine - cold air is circulating in both compartments, and the the ice maker and water dispenser work. When it's not working, I can still hear a motor running in the back of the unit, but no cold air is present inside and the water dispenser stops working. I vacuumed the back of the unit under the cardboard, but it didn't help. This has been going on for 3 weeks. I had 2 repair appointments setup, but on the days of the appointments, the appliance worked. Can this be an electrical problem? Possibly a short somewhere in the wiring, where it turns on and off and then on again? Any ideas?
