Worked great, I have ice cubes again, easy to install, good price. If your ice cubes are getting smaller or hollow, your valve may be getting clogged with sediment/stuff in your water and this fixed mine completely.

There's a good chance that the control board inside the dispenser may have failed. Get the model number located inside the refrigerator near it's light and then u can order a replacement part from one of these two sites:

I sounds like a wiring connection problem. Do you here anything when you press the pads for ice or water? If not your wiring should be at the bottom area of the freezer door. its a 5 or 6 pin connector, somtimes its not seated properly.Try that if you hear noise it could be too

Water dispenser on whirlpool refrigerator ED5FHAXVT01 not working, ice maker is working, i hear the motor when i try the water - have pulled the filter - do I need a new part# 2188708 Filter Valve Assem?? I see quite a few articles that say this is the culprit for the ice maker, I presume the solenoid controls water to both ice & water dispensers on from door.
