Developed a crack
I've been a previous owner of a faucet mount PUR filter that lasted for over 4 years before it finally broke. I purchased this particular model thinking that it would also last, but I was disappointed. A couple of months later, it deveolped a hairline crack just below the filter indicator. I... -
Good at first but breaks after a year.
So this is my second PUR water filter mount. Both were this same model. Right out of the package they work great. It's not entirely necessary as our water is already clean out of the faucet, but it does remove any particulates that may reside in the distribution piping and home piping, as well...

dispenser control board is shorted. do get ahold of amana and they should help with the cost of the repairs. they may pay for the part but you will probably have to pay for the labor to replace. not too bad of a deal really.

SC Johnson introduced a version of its popular Windex window cleaner earlier this year that's sold in a "snip 'n' pour" pouch, above left, so customers can refill old bottles with a concentrated Windex formula diluted with water from the tap. The company also is test marketing a contraption called the All-in-One, above right, a dispenser for concentrated versions of Scrubbing Bubbles, Fantastik and other cleansers. And in March, Procter & Gamble is scheduled to introduce Tide Pods, a “compacted” version of liquid laundry detergent in single-use capsules meant to eliminate the need to measure and reduce the overuse of soap.
These kinds of super-concentrated cleaners have come and gone since the '70s, with mostly limited success. But consumers will see a resurgence of them in the months to come due to the success of niche cleaning products and pressure from large retailers including Wal-Mart, which are seeking to maximize shelf space, reduce their environmental footprint and showcase their eco-stewardship.
Water Dispenser not working
WAter dispenser stopped working. checked switch at water dispenser and it is closing and has 115 thru it. checked solenoid with wiring disabled 330 ohms resistance. Made water switch continuous and was getting 115 volts sporatically at the solenoid valve. After about 2 minutes it stopped short cycling and was working. After leaving it for a while it starts short cycling again.
