Easy upgrade
This has to be one of the easiest products to install. The fridge is set up for it, the instructions are clear and very few tools are required. It took about 45 minutes to install, probably because I was talking to someone while working.
GE refrigerator has IM1 ice maker factory installed kit. If stop bar is pushed up, ice making stops, otherwise ice fills the tray and keeps fillng the freezer all over the place. How can the direction be reversed for the motor?
some times ice will re freeze in the ice maker and jam it get rid of the old ice then let it refill with fresh ice. that simple fix worked for me.

Recently I purchased kenmore elite refrigerator with ice maker. By default it does not provide water hose and installation kit. I have bought water hose with installation kit from Home Depot but need assitance/information to install it myself. the kit comes with a self piercing saddle valve locate a cold water pipe connect the water line to the valve and then to the solenoid at the back of refrigerator after every thing is attached turn the piercing valve to pierce the cold water line and then turn the valve back

GE WR30X10093 Refrigerator Icemaker Kit | Refrigerators
The print for my refrigerator showed the part #WR30X0327 as the icemaker I needed. Apparently it's obsolete and this #WR30X10093 was supposed to be the direct replacement. The adapter cord made the complete cord assembly way too long so had to do some maneuvering to get all the cord placed in the back so it could be mounted. Then the basket would not slide back in as this model hangs to low.Then I get on here and find I can't return it. Great system!! I ordered the icemaker replacement because the plastic ice cube guard/deflector (plastic part with plastic teeth) had broken on my old icemaker, and this $1.00 part cannot be purchased separately. The replacement came, and the instructions said "DO NOT use the plastic ice cube guard in this new icemaker, replace with the guard from your old icemaker before installing". WHAT Needless to say, I have used the guard that the new icemaker came with, and it has worked fine so far....
