  1. Gets cold in the back-- REALLY cold
For the most part, this refridgerator has done a good job keeping the drinks cold, and the size is reasonable: small on the outside, big on the inside, perfect for the dorm room. The interior is sound and the temperature is very cold, even on the minimum setting. So why did it lose three stars?...
  2. Good product. Better price.
I had been wanting a compact refrigerator for awhile now. Finally decided to get one -- and I must say this is a fine choice. The first thing I noticed about it was it was a little bigger then I expected for some reason. But it is relativly light and movable. One thing I really like about it is...
do boric acid really work for cockroaches?

i bought a mini refrigerator and milk leaked in the fridge. i cleaned it up after that....months later i seen baby roaches in my fridge and in my room i used the raid fogger and it still not working. So i wanted to know do boric acid really work???

It kills them, it doesn't repel them or make them go away. The way it works is boric acid gets into their digestive system. Roaches can't burp, so they explode (well, they split) because of the gas pressure.

I poked hole in freezer compartment, but its separate from fridge, is it still safe to use?

I poked a hole in the Freezer compartment of my Mini-Fridge last night. It did make a hissing noise, so from I gather the freon has leaked out. But what is the brown liquid? And since the Refrigerator is still cool I am assuming its separate from...

Yeah you leaked out the freon. The brown stuff is oil that is in the refrigerant circuit. Your fridge part won't stay cool long as it is the same freon circuit that cools the fridge as well as the freezer. Without freon it will just get warmer and warmer.

Cold Nights, Frosty Reminder: Time To Winterize

BEND, Ore. -- There's no denying that we're starting to see some very cold nights on the High Desert. If you're a homeowner, it's a reminder that now is a good time to start winterizing your home for the elements.

Cold temperatures could be trouble for pipes if ignored, as water left in the lines freezes and expands and could blow out pipe pipes, causing possibly thousands of dollars in damage.

Here are a few things homeowners can do to save some money and headaches this winter.

Stop pipes from busting by disconnecting outside hoses from any water valves, and put them away. Shut foundation valves, and cover any exposed pipes with insulation.

When temperatures plummet, open up cabinets to let central air circulate around sink pipes.

Some other money-saving tips:

Heat loss equates to energy loss, so seal your home as much as possible. Check windows and replace weather stripping.

Why does our mini fridge leak water? | Financial Times Lab

Most many refrigerators do not have a drain. They are manually defrosted and the water is dropped in a pan below the freezer compartment then manually dumped by the owner.

First try to completely defrost it. If it still has the problem after completely defrosting it then get back on and ask more questions. My guess that frost is collectring on the suction line due to refrigerant flooding out of the evaporator. This is due to way too much ice on the coil.

A Household Emergency! Fridge & Freezer Repair

When we buy food there is a section of the supermarket or corner shop that’s chilled and contains food items that must be kept chilled for them to remain fresh and appetising, if you have ever seen one of these refrigeration units get broken then pools of water can form and staff will be running around desperately trying to save the stock from perishing.

The same could happen in your own home and so it’s important you make sure to handle any broken fridge or freezer immediately. Sometimes this can happen whilst you’re out or away, in which case it may be too late but in many cases the air inside will stay cool as long as it’sn’t opened so food in a fridge may survive if transferred quickly, food in a freezer though can be a different story.

You should examine this information thoroughly, the problem and the suggestions have quite a number versions. Frozen food cannot be re-frozen when it has defrosted once and so unless you plan to host a big banquet any time soon you may have to prioritise what you’ll save and what you’ll chuck in the bin. Try to keep or make use of expensive food items such as frozen meats and specialty foods but you may have to resign to the fact that items like ice cream will be useless.
