I was concerned given all the reviews about keeping the drinks cold enough but I use mine in my workout room to house all my exercise drinks and it keeps them plenty cold enough at a medium-high setting (probably due the fan circulating the air which most beverage coolers do not have). This is the fridge from hell. I own this fridge and while it COULD be a great appliance it leaks glue from every plug and opening on the doors and unit. I am constantly having to scrape up puddles of caulking or glue from the floor and off of the doors. I’ve taped the holes, requested new plugs etc. from Frigidaire and have NEVER received a response from them via mail, email, or phone in response to my requests for new plugs or help in curbing the leaking caulk/glue issue. I purchased it from Lowes and Lowes hasn’t been any help either since I didn’t buy a warranty – assuming that Frigidaire was a “good” brand. Not.
It’s noisy as well – louder than a full-size refrigerator. The plastic shell will not stand up to dorm room, kids or heavy use. I have it in my office and after less than a year it’s looking brittle.
I think the leaks from both sides of the bottom of the freezer door, and the fridge door could be a health hazard if they got into your food. As it is the caulk just sticks to everything making the handles, the floor, the sides – everything sticky. It gets on your hands, your clothes, your shoes. You’ll spend more time cleaning the glue up than you will stocking and using the appliance. There were plugs MISSING when I got the unit – something I noticed the first time I opened the door and found glue all over everything. I called the company to ask them to send plugs and they never responded. I couldn’t find the plugs online either. I put heavy duty packing tape over the holes – which didn’t work – the glue oozes out the sides like some sort of putty colored, B-grade movie alien invader....
