I was thinking of buying a mini frig for my room but I have two other roomates that live with me. This is an old house and I was told that running a mini refrigerator and an air conditioner in the same room might trip the switch.
Most mini fridges that operate on 12 volts use a thermoelectric semiconductor device to provide cooling rather than a compressor like in a big refrigerator. Because of this they will only cool items to about 20 degrees below ambient temperature.
