Yobs as young as 12 are causing problems
CHILDREN as young as 12 are regularly causing a nuisance to residents in Overseal, parish councillors have heard.
The village’s beat officer, PC Dave McMillan, attended the latest monthly meeting of Overseal Parish Council to reveal the village’s latest crime figures .
He also told members that tackling anti-social behaviour had been set as an issue for Overseal following a safer neighbourhood meeting.
PC McMillan said that some of the children involved were already known to the police and some were as young as 12.
The latest crimes listed by the officer included the theft of a freezer put outside a home in Coronation Street to defrost.
There was also a burglary in a home in Green Lane, although in that case, a suspect had been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
Another burglary also took place in Acresford Road.
In Woodville Road, a wall next to St Matthew’s Church was vandalised and a bicycle was stolen from a shed.
